Online accountability coaching

Accountability that keeps you moving.

Online fitness coaching for people who know what to do and keep stopping: two weigh-ins a week, progress photos every two weeks, a weekly call, and someone who reads your numbers and asks what happened.

This is one part of how online personal training with me works. The whole picture is there; this page is about having someone to answer to. If your week is the problem, coaching for a busy week is the page for that.

In short

Who this is for, and how it runs.

For: People who keep starting over, who know what to do but stop doing it, are ready to take responsibility, and want skills that last.

Not for: Anyone looking for a quick fix, anyone who needs a booked session with someone waiting to get to the gym, or anyone who needs specialized addiction or mental health treatment.

How it runs: Diogo Fitness (Diogo Fit) is one-to-one online fitness coaching from Diogo Camera, based in South Florida, for clients anywhere in the world. Your workouts live in the Trainerize app; you weigh in twice a week and send progress photos every two weeks; we talk on a weekly call scheduled around your time zone, and you can message me with questions between calls. How one-to-one online coaching works has the full description; the first step is the application, a short message you write and send yourself.

Fit

Who this is for. And who it isn’t.

This is for you if…

  • You keep starting over. You’ve tried getting in shape before, but struggle to stay consistent.
  • You know what to do. You just stop doing it. The gap between knowing and doing is the part I work on, because I lived in it. (Why that happens.)
  • You’re ready to take responsibility. I’ll provide the structure and guidance, but you’re willing to put in the work.
  • You want skills that last. Not someone to answer to forever. The goal is to stop needing a coach.

Not a fit if…

  • You’re looking for a quick fix. Lasting results take effort, patience, and consistency.
  • What gets you to the gym is the appointment. If a booked session with someone waiting is the thing that works for you, a trainer at your gym may be the better call. Here’s the honest comparison.
  • You need specialized addiction or mental health treatment. My coaching supports fitness and healthy habits. It isn’t a substitute for care from a licensed healthcare or mental health professional.

The idea

Motivation was never the problem.

Motivation comes and goes. Having a plan, and someone on the other end of it, helps you stay on track.

Starting over usually isn’t a willpower problem. It’s a structure problem: a plan made for someone with nothing else going on, nobody checking in, and motivation doing all the heavy lifting. I know the gap between knowing what to do and actually doing it, because I lived in it. So the work is building the structure and staying on the other end of it with you.

Wanting to train and training are different things. In a meta-analysis of 10 studies and 3,899 people, nearly half of the people who intended to meet the activity guidelines didn’t follow through.1

Tracking progress and reporting it helps people reach goals. A meta-analysis of 138 randomized studies (19,951 people) found that getting people to monitor their progress toward a goal helped them reach it. The effect was larger when the outcomes were reported or made public, and when the information was physically recorded.2 Those studies aren’t about coaches. A weekly check-in is a version of both.

Week to week

What someone to answer to actually looks like.

A few fixed points every week or two, and a person who reads them.

  1. Your sessions, logged

Your workouts live in the Trainerize app. Follow your plan, track your workouts, and always know what to do next. What you log is what we look at.

  2. Two weigh-ins a week

Two weigh-ins per week help us monitor your progress over time without overreacting to normal daily fluctuations.

  3. Progress photos every two weeks

Progress photos help us see changes in your physique that the scale alone might not capture.

  4. A weekly call

Scheduled around your time zone. We’ll discuss your wins, challenges, and progress, then identify what needs to change to keep you moving forward.

  5. Messages between calls

Between calls you can message me with questions.

What gets looked at

More than the scale.

Real progress goes beyond a number on the scale. We track four areas to understand what’s working and what needs adjusting.

01

Your weight trend.

Read as a trend over time, from two weigh-ins a week.

02

Your physical progress.

Progress photos every two weeks, for what the scale misses.

03

Your strength.

Your weights, reps, and performance over time.

04

Your consistency.

Are you following your plan and building habits you can maintain?

Where it ends

The goal is to stop needing a coach.

Someone to answer to is the scaffolding, not the building. I’ll explain the reasoning behind your training as we go, so you understand what you’re doing and why, and can keep going on your own after coaching ends.

I can’t guarantee results, and you should be careful with anyone who promises them. What I can promise is a clear plan, honest feedback, support, and adjustments when needed.

If I’m not the right coach for you, I’ll be honest about that too.

Someone who notices when you go quiet.

Questions

Questions about accountability.

Short answers. The rest is on the main questions page.

What does an accountability coach do?

With me: your workouts live in the Trainerize app, you weigh in twice a week, you send progress photos every two weeks, and we talk on a weekly call about what’s working, what isn’t and what needs to change. Between calls you can message me with questions. Someone sees the numbers every week, so a missed week gets a question instead of silence.

I always start strong and then quit. Is this really for me?

Then you’re exactly who I built this coaching for. Starting over usually isn’t a willpower problem. It’s a structure problem: a plan made for someone with nothing else going on, nobody checking in, and motivation doing all the heavy lifting.

What happens if I miss a week?

We talk about it on the call. We look at the week you actually had and rebuild the next one around it. The rule for a missed session is simple, and it’s yours to keep: the next one happens no matter what. (How the plan survives a bad week.)

Can you guarantee I’ll stay consistent?

No, and be careful with anyone who promises results. What I can promise is a clear plan, honest feedback, support, and adjustments when needed. The showing up is still yours.

Will I need someone checking on me forever?

No. That’s the opposite of the goal. I’ll teach you how to manage your training and habits independently, so you can keep moving forward even after coaching ends.

Couldn’t an app or an AI chatbot do this?

An app can remind you and log what you do, and a chatbot can write you a plan. Neither one is a person who reads your week and asks what happened. Here’s the honest three-way comparison.
