Online fitness coaching for people in New Jersey
New Jersey has one of the highest shares of adults who lift twice a week on these pages, and one of the longest commutes. It is a state of people who train and commute, often into two different cities. Coaching for New Jersey is about keeping the training from losing to the train. Diogo is based in South Florida and coaches online. New Jersey is on Eastern time, the same as me.

How coaching works from a distance
Diogo is based in South Florida and coaches online. Your workouts live in the Trainerize app, you weigh in twice a week, you send progress photos every two weeks, and we talk on a weekly call scheduled around your time zone. Between calls, you can message me with questions.
I commute into the city. Where does lifting fit?
Around the train, not after it. New Jersey’s commute is among the longest on these pages and most workers here do not work from home, so the plan does not write five evenings of lifting. It writes two or three sessions, placed where the week honestly has them: a gym near the station before the ride home, early on a day that starts late, the weekend. Each session is forty minutes and built around the big movements, and the walk to and from the train counts toward your steps.
New Jersey already lifts more than most states. What is left to coach?
Progression, and the part of the year the commute wins. The state survey puts New Jersey among the highest on these pages for adults lifting two or more days a week, and a fair share still report no activity at all. For the lifters, coaching is enough weekly work, progression you can see in the logbook and someone reading it; for the rest, it is a plan small enough to survive the long day. Coaching to build muscle is the first shape; coaching for a busy week is the second.
Does online coaching work for a crowded, connected state like this?
It is built for one. New Jersey has one of the highest household broadband shares on these pages, so the weekly call and the app are never the problem; the problem is time, and the plan is designed around that. We are on the same clock, so the call can go anywhere in your evening, including on the train home.
