Online fitness coaching for people in Georgia
Outside Florida, Georgia is the state that feels most like home to me: the same time zone, a long hot season, a young median age and a commute that eats the evening around the big city. Coaching for Georgia is about building a week that survives the drive and the summer. Diogo is based in South Florida and coaches online. Georgia is on Eastern time, the same as me.
How Georgia trains, per the CDC's state survey
In 2023, 41.6% of adults in Georgia reported muscle-strengthening activities on 2 or more days a week (BRFSS, 95% CI 40.0 to 43.3). In 2025, 23.1% reported no leisure-time physical activity at all (BRFSS, 95% CI 21.6 to 24.5).
Daily life in Georgia, by the numbers
From the Census Bureau's American Community Survey, published value and margin of error together: about 15.9% of workers who live here work from home (90% margin of error plus or minus 0.2); commuters average 28.3 minutes to work (90% margin of error plus or minus 0.1); the median age is 37.6 years (90% margin of error plus or minus 0.1); 91.0% of households have a broadband subscription (90% margin of error plus or minus 0.2). State figures: your own city may differ.
How coaching works from a distance
Diogo is based in South Florida and coaches online. Your workouts live in the Trainerize app, you weigh in twice a week, you send progress photos every two weeks, and we talk on a weekly call scheduled around your time zone. Between calls, you can message me with questions.
Atlanta traffic takes my evening. When do I train?
Before the traffic, or after it has given up. Georgia’s commute is among the longer ones on these pages, and the share working from home is in the middle, so the plan writes two or three sessions into the places a commuting week actually has: early morning, a gym near work before the drive home, and the weekend. Sessions are forty minutes and built around the big movements, so none of them needs a free evening to happen. Coaching for a busy week is the shape of it.
What does a Georgia summer do to the plan?
The same thing it does to mine in South Florida: it moves the outdoor work early or late and keeps the lifting indoors. The state survey says about a quarter of Georgians report no leisure-time activity and fewer than half lift twice a week; a plan that asks for outdoor sessions at six in the evening in July is one reason those numbers look the way they do. The plan is written for the season you are in, and the outdoor work comes back when the weather does.
I’m young and I have started a dozen times. Is this for me?
You are the person I built it for. Georgia’s median age is young for these pages, and the pattern at that age is energy without a system. The plan gives it one: the smallest week you can keep, a floor for the bad ones, progression on purpose, and someone who notices when you go quiet. The connection most Georgia households have is all the weekly call needs. Why you keep starting over is where I would start reading.
